How to Navigate the Site and Find Relevant Content

Today, I am writing this post to help my readers. I am truly grateful that you visit my site and read the content I create. However, I know that you may face some difficulty in finding relevant content. When you visit the site, 10 posts are visible on the Home Page. You can find older ones by clicking “More Posts.” Then another 10 posts appear on the next page, and so forth. But it gets cumbersome to keep clicking “More Posts” repeatedly. So if you want to read the very first post - way back from 2015 - you have to click “More Posts” 21 times or more, as there are around 220 posts on the blog so far. Being a kind person (yes, a bit of self-praise!), I feel your pain, so I am writing this post to help you navigate the site and find content easily.

Basically, there are five ways to navigate the site and find content:

  1. Manually by clicking “More Posts.”

  2. Archive

  3. Tags/Labels

  4. Find My Content page

  5. Search

So let me explain each one, one by one:

1. Manually

It is the simplest method, but a bit tedious. However, you can read a brief snippet from each post, so you can decide whether to read it or pass. As I mentioned earlier, there are 200+ posts, so it becomes a bit tiring. Don’t worry - there are other ways.

2. Archive

If you click the three tiny bars near the Search option in the top-left corner, a menu will appear. The first item in the menu is “Archive.” Here, you can find all articles categorized by year and month. You will see the latest to the oldest posts listed there. It’s very handy if you want to find a specific article.

Archived articles

3. Tags/Labels

The third way to find content is through “Labels” or tags. As Blogger (the platform that hosts my blog) does not have dropdown menus in its default themes, the posts are categorized according to topics or tags. For example, under “Labels,” you will find “Games,” “Crypto,” “Gen-Z,” “Islamic,” “Apps,” “Quizzes,” etc. When you click on a particular label, it will show a page containing all posts with that tag or topic - for example, games. This method is even more convenient than the previous ones, as you can find similar content in one place.

4. Find My Content – Page

I reviewed the user experience and realized that it can still feel overwhelming to browse through 200+ posts. So, I decided to build a preference engine - something like Netflix. I was reading about how Netflix came up with personalized content suggestions. Obviously, I don’t have that massive amount of user data or detailed personal preferences yet. But I thought, let’s try this on a smaller scale.

I vibe-coded a Suggestion Engine that shows you relevant posts when you input some basic information, such as your age, personality, or interests. It’s not perfect, but if you’re in a hurry and just want to skim through suggested content, this is probably the best option.

5. Search

The last option is to search the website using a keyword. The Search option is in the top-left corner of the Home Page. For example, if you search for “Hollywood,” the results will show all posts where the word “Hollywood” appears.

So that’s all. I hope you will now be able to navigate the site more easily and find relevant content. This article can also be especially helpful for new users, as they can discover relevant posts much more easily now.

Thank you for reading, for continuing to read, and for supporting me.

Peace!
