Prohibition of Reading Someone Else’s Writing or Letters

Prohibition of Reading Someone Else’s Writing or Letters - And How It Relates to Today’s Digital Resources Introduction Among the refined etiquettes taught in Islam is respect for others' privacy. This includes refraining from reading another person’s writings, letters, or personal notes without their permission. Scholars have discussed this issue extensively, drawing evidence from hadith, the practice of the Salaf, and juristic principles. Foundational Evidence from the Hadith The foundation for this etiquette is based on the narration attributed to the Prophet ﷺ: “Whoever looks into his brother’s writing without his permission is as though he is looking into Hellfire.” This narration has been reported from Ibn ʿAbbās (رضي الله عنهما) through various chains. However, scholars of hadith have classified it as weak (ḍaʿīf). Abu Dawud stated that all its routes are weak, Abu Hatim described it as munkar, and Ibn Hajar and al-Albani also declared its chain weak. Despite its weaknesses,...

How 5 M's of Advertising can up your Social Media Game?

It is very heartening to see that many people are producing content on social media. Whether it is Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, Twitter, or their new cousin TikTok, we see loads of content published daily. Social Media has become a powerful way of communication - mass communication. But these content producers are not aware of the concept and terminologies used in the field.

an old big TV

Similarly, they struggle with advertising or promotion too. Both are part and parcel of the communication process. to help them, I have written a small guide below on how they can use the advertising properly. Almost all social media platforms have some promotion or advertising mechanism. This simple process will work with all of them. This plan is called 5 M's of Advertising

These M's are Mission, Money, Message, Medium, and Measurement.

Mission:

It is where you decide your objectives. What do you want to achieve through advertising? The 3 basic reasons are to inform, persuade, and remind. You would inform people about your awesome content if you were a new YouTuber. You would persuade your audience to buy something from your affiliate link, or you are an established blogger who wants to remind them about the new video they posted. This decision will impact the later stages.

Money:

Then you decide how much you want to spend. If you are a new entrant, then you are in the introduction stage of the Product Life Cycle or PLC. You need a lot of effort to make your place in the market at this stage. If you are already at the growth or maturity stage, you need less advertising.

Message:

It is the most important thing in the process where you decide what you will say to your audience. You define the tone as formal, informal, or friendly. Whether it be a video ad, a static ad, or a text ad? You develop the content here.

Medium:

Then you decide where your audience is and how to reach them. Now, you have got a lot of options. If you are a YouTuber and want to run ads on YouTube, you have several options: skippable, non-skippable, bumper ads, and static ads. If you want to increase your web visits, you may choose text-based search engine ads. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Linked In, and Twitter have advertising and post boosting options. Research and choose wisely.

Measurement:

This is the most important step in any advertising stage, but it is ignored mostly. You need to see how your ad campaign performed. Did you get your goal? Did it reach the right audience.? Have you got new followers, and how many? The data would help you answer these questions if you achieved your goals, Bingo! If you haven't, then dig deeper where you faltered.

With this simple step-by-step advertising plan, you can achieve your goals easily. I hope you will find this information useful.
